If that Word of God you study,
that Word of Life
you continue to declare,
is not resounding
resonating
and bearing witness
in your deepest place
as affirmation,
as identification,
as participation
in the substance and spirit of that word,
and if that word is not growing up -
blossoming
from your inner man
as a life-giving power,
it does no less or more
than a dog’s bark moves the moon -
or rattling kettles makes a meal.
You're only making intelligible sounds
to your own ears and brain
which are yet so far
from transforming your heart and life.
The words of God are yours,
as you give them place
to possess you.

That I am standing here this moment
conversing with You
That I am thinking and contemplating
Your existence
Your power
Your creation.

That I affirm my present state
and know that I had no part
in my coming forth.
This, my own life,
my thoughts
my words
my body
my soul
my will, desires and imagination -
all of them are evidence
of the absolute certainty
of Your immediate,
pervasive
and permanent presence.
Only One far greater than I
could create me
with the urge
to seek after,
and find You...
to contemplate and imagine
what goodness and power
and creative glory
spread out the heavens,
and established the earth.
To behold all that is able to be seen
is the perfect evidence
that a greater,
unseen and eternal Maker
has made it all to be.
