I was thinking today of how enthralled Cosette (my granddaughter) is with horses. She reads books about caring for them. She imagines having one. Her desire/love for a horse is virtually palpable.
As I considered how this desire impacts her . . .

People do not hand out rations of food at a banquet, nor handout blankets in the heat of summer.
To the full of belly and the warm of body the Gospel appears ridiculous. They'll quickly retort, who are you to tell me I've got a gaping hole . . .
You Can Stop It
Only you can stop the Spirit who is at work in you to will and to do His good pleasure. Not that you're stronger that He, but you may refuse to cooperate, resist His intentions and not join His adventure.
Only you can resist the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and currently surges inside you.
Only you . . .
This Freedom
This Freedom
That spilled guts
And streaming tears
Apprehended
Was by degrees
Left unattended
Now lies
Undefended
Is by stealth
Swiftly ended.
